Johnson Leifield Structural Engineers was originally founded in June, 1990 as the engineering practice of David D.B. Johnson, Structural Engineer. In March of 1995, Susan P. Leifield joined the practice and the partnership of Johnson Leifield Structural Engineers was established in January of 1996. Since its inception, this firm has performed the structural design of over 1,250 projects of varying scope and complexity.
As structural engineers, the partners are experienced in many types of building projects including commercial, institutional, educational, recreational, and residential. In addition, the firm also specializes in the seismic rehabilitation of old and historic structures and has over 30 years experience in the structural engineering design of building curtain wall and façade systems including natural stone and aluminum with glazing enclosures.
The partnership of Johnson Leifield Structural Engineers provides excellence in the engineering design and rehabilitation of structures. The building design expertise of David Johnson is complemented by Susan Leifield’s extensive bridge design experience. Johnson Leifield Structural Engineers is both a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) and a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE). The partners are licensed to practice structural engineering in California and 15 other states.
